The RTLS system simplifies the entire process of asset tracking and enables smoother flow of operations. The RTLS Systems has the following components:
- Wi-Fi enabled Location Receivers - These are standard Wi-fi Access Points,, which are connected to the wired backbone of the company; thus providing a wireless coverage of the entire vicinity.
- Exciters / Readers - These are Choke-Points, which are created within the vicinity to identify, when the asset passed a particular location.
- Positioning Engine - This piece of software related to the tag via the Wi-fi receivers would identify and give the position of the Tag within the Wi-Fi Confinement.
- Application Software - This software would use the positioning data given by the Positioning Engine with a Site map to relate to the exact locations that the RFID Tag is present. This piece of software would in real terms relate to the requirement for tracking and tracing.

With the help of RFID technology, examination paper tracking becomes more convenient and more efficient. Information can be read with the help of an RIFD chip attached onto the paper. Some RFID tags have WORM (Write Once Read Many) memory. Once a segment of the tag has been written ; it cannot be changed or deleted, which makes it ideal for security applications and hence eliminates any chances of any discrepancy or malpractices.
Just as the student is about to enter the examination hall, paper is scanned and information regarding his personal details is stored in the tag attached to his paper. The tag is scanned every single time the student is provided a supplement; thus every information about regarding the student is updated throughout. Such an arrangement does not disclose the personal details of the student’s apart from keeping it secure; thus eliminating any possibilities of discrepancy or malpractice taking place.
